Default Prevent Table moving

Category: Word: Properties & Formatting

I have a number of Tables on a Word document, the last of which is one that I want to keep in the current position on the last page.

The issue is that as each of the tables above expand with text, the last Table moves down and ends up being slit across 2 pages.

Is there a way it can be kept on the last page? I still want to others to expand and go over 2 pages if necessary but that should not affect the size or position of the last one if it can be avoided.

hi Sharky,

Try selecting a line above the last table and pressing [ctrl + enter] or if you are using Word 2007 the menu/ribbon option is Insert - Page Preak. This will force the table to remain on a page by itself at the end of the document.

If you want to see formatting marks such as manually inserted page breaks you can use [ctrl + *] which is [ctrl + shift + 8].

Thanks for the reply - this is one Table and I need a section at the end to remain on the last page. Is that possible?

hi Sharky,

Your last comment of "this is one table" seems to contradict your earlier statement that you "have a number of Tables". However, manually inserting a page break seems to work in both situations (eg within a table, or between tables). Have you tried using my initial suggestion of manually inserting a page break [ctrl + enter]?
