Default Earned Value Over Time Report - AC values are all zero

------ Register to get rid of these "In Post" ads! ------

I am using MS Project 2007 SP2 MSO. I have created a project and performed all the steps to create my earned value report. When I create the earned value visual report the data is transferred to Excel 2007 SP2 MSO in the form of a chart and pivot table. The pivot table shows Earned Value, Planned Value, and AC. The AC column is all zero's where the other columns contain correct data. The ACWP column in project shows the correct values.

Somehow the AC, ACWP data in project is not being transfered to excel for some reason. I have done Earned Value graphs in the past and never had this problem. Obviously I'm doing something wrong but just can seem to find the setting I'm missing.

I attached the file if it helps at all.

If someone could point me in a direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Parker

Some background of what I have done and made sure was correct.
-Baseline is set from the start of the project with the current day at the start of the project.
-I moved current date to today when creating the chart.
- I set the status date to a week after my last work entry to make sure I have all the data.
-I have resources for each task, none for summary tasks, and each resource has a $ amount to it.
-Use task usage view to enter actual hours for each resource.
-ACWP and Actual Cost are the same.
-tools/options/earned value = %complete and correct baseline.

Simon,
I have tried to get the AC values to transfer to excel through the Earned Value over time visual report. I opened it today and the AC values transferred to excel and the report looked good. I added hours for today to some project tasks under task usage view. I created the report again and no AC values transferred. AC was all zero in the pivot table.
'Original Source: The Code Cage Forums http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/members-project-formatting/171894-earned-value-over-time-report-ac-values-all-zero.html#post621022

I closed down project and reopened it and the chart worked fine?

I'm starting to lean towards a project feature/bug in the calculations portion.
You can see this in my project that I attached at the start of the thread, but I attached my tools/options/calculations settings.

I am eager to find out what you think,
Thanks,
Parker

What are the steps you are taking to copy to Excel?, i don't see a problem with your report.

Simon,
I use Report/Visual Reports/All/Earned Value Over Time Report.
This automatically creates a pivot table and graph in excel.
That is where my problems come in. The AC values in the pivot table and graph are zero.

If you add some hours and then do the report, do you get all zeros for AC?

Thanks Simon,
It turns out that I have to close the project and then open it before the graph will come out like yours. If I make any changes to the project, like addint actual hours to a task, the AC values will be zero. It seems like it is just a calculation error by MSProject.
